In our manaiakalani session we discussed the different ways we can communicate online. Things like comments, websites and so much more. We had also discussed what our favourite things to do with digital technology and other creative things to connect with other.
We have learnt a lot about adding and subtracting decimals and can be useful for things like shot-put scores, swimming metres and so much more. with adding decimals it can become into a whole number with varieties of decimal numbers that can go for a long time. It can help with using it to subtract things like money and scores.
For maths, we learnt about translating 2d shapes and following sets of instructions. Translating is when you move a shape, left, right, up or down but can not be rotated. Things like maps and grids can be used with translation. It has helped me to describe the movement of shapes and where one shape can get to another destination.
The vocabulary square has been in our reading since term 2 and is to help us to understand the meanings of words. This has helped me to understand and write meanings in my own words, also known as summarising. This is one of my favourite things in reading and is most helpful for me.
Me and Fono had made a recipe book to understand more about Contents pages from cook books and chapter books. We figured that contents and index pages can be found mostly from cook books, online and offline. Fono and I now understand contents and index pages and there meanings
The B.M.X is an amazing and descriptive piece and has a lot of Technical, descriptive, and present tense vocabulary and things that are most important for a report. This helped me with becoming more better at report writing and helping me with understanding different types of text. I like these kinds of writing because it can help me understand and help me for my writing to become more stable.
For writing this term we have been given a piece of writing of a story around the country Russia and is for knowing the true meanings behind it, more deeper and more expressive. This piece of writing had helped me learn that stories with small meanings can go way deeper than you think it could go. Diversity- Chicken Soup would be one of my favourite things in writing
From this week, translation has become a new thing that i have learnt and i think that it is very useful. With moving shapes to the right, left or up and down without rotating it can be a really fun thing in maths. In my opinion, i think that translating shapes to different locations and orders can help me with other things in geometry. I am proud of myself from learning different things such as translation and reflection.
